I just tried ubuntu-12.04.3-server-amd64.iso, everything goes smoothly
on my side. Provided that you replicated the scenario correctly, I
would suggest to "minimize" your host environment, may be try bare
bhyvectl/bhyve (in case you run wrappers etc)
