I finaly figured out what had broken my 4.0-STABLE audio. I had been running an icecast real-time feed from my local system that was being broadcast by: http://audio.firehouse.net:8000/wake Suddenly one day after a CVSup and re-build, it just quit working... No audio, no nothing. Just silence from the encoder. Now, two months later, I finally have had a chance to start looking at it again. I looked over the updates to the audio code, poked a bit into the pcm driver, diddled the IRQs available to my pci devices, beat my head against the wall.... until.... I thought to myself, "Self, what *ELSE* might be doing bad things to the ability of the MIC input to be able to record sound?" *SIGH* --SNIP-- {i 94} mixer Mixer vol is currently set to 77:77 Mixer pcm is currently set to 78:78 Mixer speaker is currently set to 80:80 Mixer line is currently set to 78:78 Mixer mic is currently set to 0:0 Mixer cd is currently set to 75:75 Mixer rec is currently set to 0:0 Mixer line1 is currently set to 78:78 Mixer video is currently set to 78:78 --SNIP-- Well, it works again. Enjoy.
