Dear FreeBSD, Thanks for the replies which are resolving most problems. Unfortunately still have some text console config problems to which no one has replied. Have studied the man pages. 1. What must I put in rc.conf to have all consoles come up with 80x50 characters? Doing "allsreens_flags="80x50"" does not work. Manually doing "vidcontrol 80x50" works. 2. The HOWTO recommends settings the terms to cons2511 to get iso8859-1 8bit characters to appear correctly in text consoles. midc, ee etc. however do not grok cons2511. 3. Does compiling with pcvt instead of sc make these things easier? What are the tradeoffs?
