IMHO, you should install the 4.0-RC snapshot.  The 4.0 on the Alpha is a
*lot* more mature than 3.x on the Alpha.  I don't know of a single
FreeBSD developer with 3.x installed on their Alpha.  4.0 is really the
Big Bang release for the Alpha.
