Hi --

I was following the path of enlightenment to gnome upgrade, and the
portupgrade process hung.
It is a fact, there's nothing I can do about it.
My question is: how do I gracefully make this thing stop (i.e., not
smash the computer)? Ctrl-C doesn't work, for instance.
And what do I do afterwards, hygiene-wise?

TIA,
Henry
