Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I am writing to say that the December edition of "Data Communications" Asia Pacific edition carried about trunking (in which a host can be connected to a switch by multiple ethernet interfaces and - like in multi-link PPP - packets to and from the host can travel on anyone of the interfaces. The client sees the same MAC/IP address as with one link but the servers throughput is doubled trebled etc. The aricle stated that FreeBSD (first time I've seen it mentioned in this magazine) was supported by Intel and Phobos and perhaps one other (Adaptec ?) maker of trunking NICs & or software. It suggested to me that the Intel FX10/100B cards would work with the vendor supplied software. How does on enable trunking in FreeBSD ? Thank you, Yours sincerely.
