It _should_ be a matter of exporting PKG_EXT=.tgz, but then again, I've
had very little luck getting PKG_EXT=.tbz to work (instead of the
wronly hardcoded .tbz2 at some places).
Also, pkg_tarup could be your timesaver, but YMMV.
