Then I did cvsup on Date: 16 Aug 2003 17:55 +900 (JST) on my ThinkPad A22e, 
and checked :
    the value of kern.timecounter.hardware is ACPI-fast
                        (without changing by sysctl -w)
    the clock works normally at any CPU settings
                                   (hw.acpi.cpu)
