I suggest you try socklog (http://smarden.org/socklog/). It's not as
'standard' as "portinstall whatever" but installing a breeze. Beware,
for the default inet logging configuration you also need to install
ucspi-tcp (http://cr.yp.to/ucspi-tcp.html) as a replacement for inetd.
