Now devfs.rules(5) redirects me to devfs.conf(5)
which clearly states i should set

perm   cuaU0  0666

and i did so as described in my initial post.
Nevertheless the permissions became wrong.
Maybe it works after the next reboot, which is hard to
believe... we'll see.
