Hi Rick,

even with the speaker module loaded, there is no beep from the console.
without loading the snd_hda module, the console speaker works fine:
(i presume direct acpi connection).
It seems to me that there is an emulated sound on debian, with the hda driver,
anyway, it sounds likewise.
if so, we need to implement it in the hda driver.
