I have absolutely no explanatin for this.  I tried the included port
and it worked.  i did a recursive diff with mine and it showed
nothing.  I went back to mine and did make clean; make all (AGAIN! I
swear), and this time it worked.  Sorry for the confusion... and
thanks for your patience with silly me!  (I guess I didn't do make
clean--it makes sense, just that I could have SWORN I did more than
once, and how did it get like that in the first place?? oh well)
