You can only mount a disk with a CD9660 image on it.

If it isn't a DVD you've recorded yourself with a CD9660 filesystem,
you'll get those messages.

If it's just a regular DVD or VCD, you don't/can't mount them, and
it isn't necessary to do so to play them.
