Hi. Can anybody explain me for sure current license status of Microsoft Point-to-Point Compression (MPPC) Protocol? It is not implemented in FreeBSD for years and I think it would be good to change this. In RFC 2118 told that "Source and object licenses are available on a non-discriminatory basis from Stac Electronics". Does it means requirement to get license to use HIFN implementation of this protocol or also denies any other free implementation? How does it coexist with Microsoft's "ROYALTY FREE PROTOCOL LICENSE AGREEMENT", http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms818807.aspx. Doesn't this agreement allows free implementation of server side protocols for cooperation with Windows client systems? -- Alexander Motin
