I seem to recall reading within the last week of some software for
FreeBSD which I understood to do anything any fancy phone system can
do.  Might have been closed-source.  Sorry I don't remember details,
but I read -stable, -questions, -chat, -doc, slashdot, & daemonnews.
Might be worth googling.

Of course, caller ID requires a phone account with support for that.
