First off, any error message that you could provide as well as the version
of sendmail would be great.

My thought is that the FreeBSD mail server is probably denying relays (error
550 IIRC).  If that's the case, see this page:
http://www.sendmail.org/faq/section3.html#3.27 .  Otherwise, an exact error
message would probably be the most helpful.
