Sorry Don for appearing to bother you with this problem, I have done exactly what you suggest but I am not getting anywhere. If I knew of anywhere to go to. maybe there are some software to overwrite the bios so that i can solve this problem. Is Mitsubishi a different company from Apricot Computers if so do they have Bios download FTP site on the internet somewhere similar to the ones Toshiba have where you can download setup software. Sorry for the Trouble and thanks for your help Peter ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: RE APRICOT SECURITY SYSTEM ACCESS FOR MODEL XEN-LSII 486 Author: Don Wilde <dwilde1@ibm.net> at internet Date: 08/26/1998 5:37 PM Received: by ccmail Received: from nairobi by co.ke (UUPC/extended 1.11) with UUCP; Wed, 26 Aug 1998 17:35:56 gmt Received: from out1.ibm.net (out1.ibm.net [165.87.194.252]) by ns1.africaonline.co.ke (8.8.6/8.8.6) with ESMTP id RAA10905 for <pnyambare@aseco.co.ke>; Wed, 26 Aug 1998 17:34:32 +0300 (GMT) Received: from ibm.net (slip-32-100-79-196.ca.us.ibm.net [32.100.79.196]) by out1 .ibm.net (8.8.5/8.6.9) with ESMTP id OAA87058; Wed, 26 Aug 1998 14:27:49 GMT Sender: don@ibm.net Message-ID: <35E41AF4.B02C46D7@ibm.net> Date: Wed, 26 Aug 1998 07:25:56 -0700 From: Don Wilde <dwilde1@ibm.net> X-ccAdmin: postmaster@nairobi X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.04 [en] (X11; I; FreeBSD 2.2.6-RELEASE i386) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: "Peter O. We don't do Windows here! However, let me suggest that you locate the battery that keeps the time clock alive and remove it for five minutes ATER you have carefully written down EVERY setting in all the SETUP screens for the BIOS. WHen you put it back in, the password should be erased. You will then have to carefully re-enter ll the other settings, such as your hard disk details, etc. Although FreeBSD is more complicated than Windows, it's a better learning tool, is more powerful, and it's free. Check out http://www.freebsd.org for details.
