Hi, since i posted on the subject some time ago... thanks to the info from Jamie Honan i managed to finally write a program which can grab an image from the scanner. I have put it at http://www.iet.unipi.it/~luigi/ppscan990326.c feel free to post the url where you believe it appropriate (e.g. the SANE mailing list/pages). I have tried it on 2.2.x with direct access to the io ports. It _should_ work on 4.x with the "ppi" driver (and on 3.x with minor changes). So far the program is a bit primitive, it can grab a color/grey image but i have not managed to make the GREY mode work, nor i have supported other resolutions than 300dpi.
