I get similar errors here too. I have an Adaptec 2940U2W with a 7 device 68 pin
cable. I have a single hard drive, a Quantum Atlas IV SCA (with SCA->68pin
adapter) . I find that I get the errors when there is a lot of drive to drive
copying between that drive and my 3 other ide drives. I also notice it happens
more often if the cable is plugged into the LVD/SE slot, so I leave it in the
Fast/SE connector and it works fine. One note on the drive writing, it's only on
drive to drive. When i do make worlds, it works fine. Sometimes when this
happens, I just get an error and then it goes back to normal use. Sometimes it
requires a reboot. Maybe these comments will help reduce your errors if you
can't replace the hardware at the current time.
