Procmail isn't a MTA (Mail Transfer Agent), it's a:

molter@dumbwinter:~$ apropos procmail
procmail(1) - autonomous mail processor
(yes, I know, not so self-explanatory ;-)

You don't want us to start a flame war on -isp, he? ;-)

 I'd suggest to have a look at qmail (www.qmail.org). In my
opinion and experience, it is easier to configure than sendmail
(no sendmail.cf !!! ;-), and it was developed with security as top
priority.

Neither am I, but, if you stick with it, everybody suggest the "Bat"
Book on sendmail, which is edited by O'Reilly.
