I'm afraid nobody's going to answer a question that describes an 
error message as ``somthing about a uu_lock in the ppp.log''.

Can you describe what you're doing and the error ppp is coming up 
with and why you have a problem with it ?  Sometimes a mention of 
which version of FreeBSD or ppp you're running is nice too.
