The Xalan-Java program, being Java, runs out-of-the-box on any of the
JDKs in /usr/ports/java. It is very easy to install: download the binary
build and put the xerces.jar, bsf.jar, and xalan.jar in your CLASSPATH.

As far as I know, Apache's C++ version of Xerces and Xalan have not been
ported. The version of Xerces in the ports collection is the Java
version.

You will probably get a much better response if you direct your question
to freebsd-ports...
