ahha! I'm aware of this, but simply editting this file does not help as I
wish for people not to see the version number of fbsd, and at boot time this
is inserted by the operating system. Is there a way of turning this off or
is the best way to do it getting an rc file to copy my copy over the current
/etc/motd?

Thanks

Steven
