Hi!

I needed to make a backup copy of a cdrom and I needed to know how to go about creating or ripping a cdrom image and saving it do disk. I did a few searches through the mailing list and found mostly information on burning cdrom images, but all I'd like to do is create an ISO image from a CDROM and then I'd like to be able to mount the image (I already know how to mount it using vnconfig - thanks to FreeBSD Diary). I also came across mkisofs, but (I might be wrong) I believe that's for creating iso images from disk (hardrive) files so I'm not sure if that would help. I thought I read somewhere that I can use dd to create an image from the cdrom to the hardisk, although I'm not sure where I saw that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joey
