Subject:   Need for new bootblocks

I have a new 3.0-RELEASE ELF system, just upgraded from 2.2.8 by
make-out-to-elf. I have the old bootblocks installed on my hard drive, and
I can boot with no problems. Why would I need the new bootblocks?
