EFI still uses a MBR though I think the format may be slightly tweaked.  The
EFI loader is stored in a FAT32 slice in fact, which is why there was a
discussion on -ia64 recently of whether or not /boot should be a FAT
filesystem.  I think to maintain compatiblity with multibooting other OS's we
shouldn't really claim the FAT fs, but simply let the base EFI loader load up a
EFI-capable loader from FFS and boot from there, but that is another can of
worms. :)
