Just install diablo,eclipse from ports.
I am currently working on 6.1-STABLE,
with diablo-1.5.0-b00, eclipse-3.1.2
and i am quite happy with them.

But as you know BSD (and especially java on FreeBSD) does not come for free=
=20
("free" as in free time)
