i'll let jesper respond to this, but large freebsd mirrors
are always welcome i'd say.

it depends on a combination of how many local users are going to hit
your server plus how many other people you are going to allow to use
the pipe.

in general (depending on local circumstances) it would not be advisable
to run a tier1 freebsd mirror on less than a 10Mbit pipe and 100Mbit
would be much better for a full public site. at peak times here during
the freebsd release cycle it can use all the bandwidth there is and then
some (i would estimate several gigabit/s worldwide) so more is always
helpful.

you should also speak to mirrors 1 and 2 to establish whether they'd
like to devolve some of the traffic, in particular if you are prepared
to run a full site (and they aren't). it would also be good if you
could seed your mirror from a local site or contemplate updating
from an existing local mirror.

there are some documents on the freebsd website that establish the
requirements for mirroring (i can't remember the exact URL, sorry)

the short version is that you should have at least 100G of disk and
more than that would be good.
