But, since *everyone* has read and execute permissions ( on this file and on the dir) ownership didn't seem relavent. The point is that fbsd won't *run* the file (or doesn't appear to). This problem now affects every user except root and *one* user, whose group memberships don't seem to be unique. Cliff
