Hello.

Next try.

I read about a lot of successful installations and therefore a lot
of people wrote back to me complaining about the lack of informations
about the 'system' and configuration I use.

One machine is a FRESHLY installed system - and XFree86-4.2 fails compiling
in freetype2! And therefore: no chance to get an installation running.

On another system I deinstalled only XFree86 and older freetype2 stuff
remained and for those remains in /usr/local/include/freetype2 the installation
works fine. But the new install-path of freetype seems to be /usr/X11R6/include/freetype2
but port XFree86-4-libraries searches in the old path!

I guess everyone who talks about a 'successful' installation installed with the older
freetype libs and install-paths (see error log at the end ...).

On one of our servers I can find freetype2 previous to 2.0.9 at the location
"/usr/X11R6" and this installation was done two or three weeks ago with the older
XFree86-4.1.X_13 port. On this machine the installation of the new XFree86 port
fails also.

In summary:

XFree86 fails on fresh installed systems AND on those I deinstalled XFree86 and freetype2
via pkg_delete due to the fact freetype2 does not install properly (compilation is all
right, but install routine messes up with make and gmake!). Installing freetype2 by hand
in /usr/X11R6/ fails also, XFree86 port expects freetype includes at /usr/local.

What the hell should I also do and examine to show that there is a problem not related
to our system's configuration?
