Well, the first time i installed FreeBSD, and also the first time i saw it, when i was to enable PPP connection (on a DSL modem, on the very single host i have at my home), i've been reading the Handbook at the adequate section and fifteen seconds later the PPP connection was established, with 100% one try one success ratio, but since you are on it for weeks, you are quite sure you didn't miss anything.
