I had this happen to me right after the big Makefile/OBJ fiasco.  I
bootstrapped make as suggested...and to get past this I went into
/bleah/src/whatever/ld and did a "make depend all install".  This seemed
to fix the problem for me.

Now "is it the correct way to fix the problem" is a whole 'nuther
discussion...
