   Make sure that your control.cancel newsgroup isn't extremely large. FreeBSD
doesn't deal well with directories that are tens of megabytes large. The best
thing to do is rm -rf the directory every hour or so out of cron.

   10MB of swap in use isn't significant and isn't your problem. The system
will page out unused pages in favor of file caching.
