I'm curious as to why you didn't use the port. This issue is extremely well-handled and well-documented by it. In fact, the answers to your questions can be found there. /usr/ports/mail/postfix/pkg-message: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/ports/mail/postfix/pkg-m= essage?rev=3D1.6&content-type=3Dtext/plain I would really recommend using the port. It's built from source and has been tested and configured to run on FreeBSD. People who ran into the same problems you're facing came up with fairly elegant solutions which are readily available to you. Jon Noack
