I think you will need to add least least......

LoadModule php4_module        libexec/apache2/libphp4.so
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps

and you may wish to add this or similar.....

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php=20
