Almost certainly some sort of error on your part.  In the 4.3 release,
for example, it was line 214 of the default rc.conf file, which had
the version tag as follows:

# $FreeBSD: /c/ncvs/src/etc/defaults/rc.conf,v 1.53.2.21 2001/03/19 09:33:59 ume Exp $
