Yes, is was my mistake. It happened while using a web interface
instead of mutt.

There is also an old port of HFS+, which is always big endian.
Unfortunately is doesn't compile on a recent 6.0/7.0 system :-(, but
that would we very helpful to have. Let me look into this a bit
further.
