i have 3 virtual ip addresses configured in my home machine and two in
my work machine (both freebsd). the problem is that i can't seem to
reach any but the machine's main ip address from within the machine.
that is to say i can't reach the aliased ip addresses (by ip address OR
hostname) from within via ssh, ping, traceroute, telnet, or using dig /
host etc.....

the connection times out, or i get a 'no route to host error'

is there any workaround for this? with the linux machines i've worked
with, this doesn't create any problems.

please respond to me as well as to the list as i'm no longer subbed to
this list.
