I recently upgraded to FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE and compiled XFree 4.0.1 from
/usr/ports and get this error when i try to run XFree86 -configure:

XFree86 Version 4.0.1 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6400)
Release Date: 1 July 2000
	If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer
	than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting
	problems.  (see http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)
Operating System: FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE i386 [ELF]
Module Loader present
(==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Sat Dec 16 14:48:57 2000
(--) Using syscons driver with X support (version 2.0)
(--) using VT number 9

Fatal server error:
xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O

Does anyone know how to fix it ?
