I witnessed an interesting thing the other day. I mounted a dos disk
copied over a big file in the background and then went to bash and tried
to do file completion on the file before it was done copying. This managed
to lock up the floppy disk permantely, plus hang any related things like
running "mount" or "df" or "ls /"

the system still was able to run but the root did not get unmounted
properly on shutdown and had to be fixed after reboot.
