Hi Mark:

Do you have the symbolic links between audio->audio1, mixer->mixer1
dsp->dsp1, etc (see /dev/MAKEDEV)?   

This confused me too, since my system only had audio0, and evertying was
linked to xxxxx0, rather than the xxxxx1.

Should you need someone to test with, send me private email.
