finding highly skilled engineers in BSD UNIX to continue to develop
their
state of the art router products. I have listed below a description of
the

Manager, Interface Software Group: This individual will report to the
Director of Software Engineering and will manage a group of software
developers. He or she will monitor the project's progress, being sure
the group is keeping goals in focus and on schedule. He or she must have
experience with data communications networking standards, ATM, POS,
Ethernet, TCP/IP, Routing/Switching technologies, UNIX Internals and
device drivers, embedded systems and realtime software. Extensive
management experience/skills required; Master's degree required.

Manager, Platform Software Group: Reporting to the Director of Hardware
Engineering, this individual will manage a group working on UNIX kernel
development, C, C++, and data communications technologies. Background in
BSD UNIX and/or systems simulators is preferred. This person will manage
the project, being sure the group stays focused and on schedule.
Master's degree is preferred, with at least 5 years experience. 

ASIC Verification Engineer and UNIX Kernel Developers: Reporting to the
Senior Director of Hardware Engineering, these individuals will be part
of a small team of engineers continuously designing and improving the
firm's state-of-the-art Gigabit Routers. 

·	ASIC Verification Engineer: The successful candidate will be
responsible for the testing of ASIC products. He or she will be
responsible for developing products in a professional and timely manner
and will need to work on a team of people all working to complete a part
of a common project. Communication of results and profess will be
necessary as will participation and cooperation with the team.
Qualifications: Requires background in ASIC verification, ASIC physical
design, FPGA design or networking and knowledge of Perl, C/C++, Verilog
or VHDL. 

·	UNIX Kernel Developers: As part of a project team these individuals
must develop kernel software for high-speed edge router, based on
FreeBSD version of UNIX. He or she must communicate effectively and
participate and cooperate with an ongoing project team. The successful
candidate must work in an organized, timely and goal-oriented fashion.
Qualifications: Requires background in UNIX kernel development, C/C++.
Experience with BSD UNIX, Networking, router protocols, driver or
firmware development is desirable. BSEE/MSEE or equivalent is required. 

·	Network/UNIX Device Driver Engineers: Members of this project team
will be responsible for the desig and development of device drivers and
interface specific code. Experience with either ATM(UNI,ILMI,IPOA,PNNI
and other areas), POS(SONET/SDH, HDLC, PPP and other areas), DS3(Frame
Relay and other areas), or Ethernet is necessary. Experience with
UNIX/SD internals, Embedded Systems Development and Real Time Operating
Systems is required. Experience with IP Networking and Routing
Technologies is a strong plus. BS/MS in CS/EE or equivalent is
necessary. 

·	High-Speed Board Design Engineer: The successful candidate to join
this project team must have experience in board design of high-speed
logic using LVDS, PECL, or similar technology. Signal integrity,
crosstalk analysis, and board timing analysis. Experience with
networking, router design, or board layout is a plus. BSEE/MSEE or
equivalent. 

·	Software Engineer: IP Routing Protocols, Access, Management: The
engineers to join this team will specify, design, develop and support
software on IP router platform to include IP routing, remote access,
mobile IP, and systems management services and protocols. Requires
experience in C/UNIX environment. Experience in IP routing (BGP, Is-IS,
OSPF), IP Multicast, IGMP, DVMRP, PIM, MSDP), Access (Ipsec, L2TP, PPP,
MobileIP), or Management(SNMPv3, LDAP, Billing, CLI) is a plus. BSCS/EE
or equivalent is required. 


Further qualifications: The successful candidates for these positions
must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to
report on the progress of ongoing projects to the rest of the
organization. In addition, the individuals must live in the D.C. Metro
area in order to commute to Rockville, or a satellite office in Reston,
Virginia.
