All,

I have installed a bunch of software including mysql 4.012 from source (SQL
works fine). Running FreeBSD 5.0. When I run (snort) get the following
error:

/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libmysqlclient.so.12" not found

The file does exist on my system in /usr/local/lib/mysql/ It is also
simlinked (libmysqlclient.so@):
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel    20 Apr  7 20:32 libmysqlclient.so@ ->
libmysqlclient.so.12

I have attempted to figure out the linkage problem with ldconfig and the
hints files, but now I'm frustrated........... Help (or a BFH) is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

David Markle
