Hiyas! What line must i add to /etc/rc.conf file to enable multiple network card gatewaying through one machine. I currently have : ifconfig_ed0 = "inet 168.142.1.1 168.142.1.2" ..so that this gateway machine is the 1.1, and the 1.2 is my workstation. But I have now third computer which i would like to add to the network, so what line must i put there to enable both of them. I've tried ifconfig_ed0 = "inet 168.142.1.1 168.142.1.3" and many other variations, but the only result i get is that first machine, 1.2 can telnet to the 1.1 machine and can use it as a gateway, but the third machine 1.3 won't connect no matter what i do. The windows configurations are ok. checked many times and are similar to the working machine except the ip number. The message FreeBSD gives me when i try to connect via telnet is : ff.ff.ff.ff.ff.ff changed to 3d.25.33.11 or something incoherent. All the machines have netmask 255.255.255.0 The point is that no matter when machine has the 1.2 address works, but from there on they won't. They only say when you try to connect : Could not open connection to 168.142.1.1 (when the usual windows message is Connection failed : 168.142.1.1), so it finds the machine but it won't let it connect.
