   The last time I tested a localhost mount was around 6 months ago.

   If I do a localhost mount of /usr/src and /usr/obj, and buildworld,
   should that be sufficient enough to cause the hang?  I can do that test
   relatively easily, but it may take me a few days because my computer
   room is being given a facelift at the moment and all the equipment is
   sitting in the living room :-)
