Hmmm. I'm NFS mounting a 2.2.6-RELEASE machine. Could be that.

First time I've ever seen it though, and I've been running the two
NFS mounted since both were on 2.2.6

No. I've been reluctant to upgrade the 2.2.6 machine, because it's
so stable. If this carries on, I might have to.
