To my knowledge, pine doesn't support downloading of POP3 mail into your
local mailbox.  You can however open a pop3 folder by adding a line like
this into your .pinerc.

inbox-path={mail.your-isp.com/pop3}INBOX

I think that's all you can do.  I switched from pine to mutt little over
a year ago, and never looked back, so if I'm wrong, then sorry, but this
is the only way I know of that pine can do it.
