With all due respect, are you sure about that? Here's why I ask... Since I booted from the CD (or I could have opted to boot from the floppies), and went through the entire install process, creating partitions and slices, the fact that I created a new mount point for /dev/ades1e on /disk2 would lead me to believe that /disk2 would not be mounted at that point, therefore the distfiles would not be available. Now, I'm sure they would be available if I had started sysinstall from my running FBSD system, but that's not what I'm after here. I'm looking to learn how to install from an existing filesystem when (for example) the computer won't boot the operating system. Does that make sense?
