Any > suggestions on an easy to use and reliable tape backup unit ? I have an HP C1533 streamer and I do recommend it. It's really fast (average 500 - 1000 kBytes/sec.) and it worked right away. Depending on what sort of tapes you use (DDS-1 or DDS-2), you can store 2 - 4 GB of compressed data on one tape. Thanks to built-in compression, it stores even more than that when you backup a disk. I think there are also C1534 and C1535 (?) models, which are a bit cheaper and have no DDS-2 support.
