In case anyone searches these messages, here's what I did.
pkg_deinstall -f xscreensaver
portupgrade -N xscreensaver-gnome
pkgdb -F (changed dependencies from xscreensaver to xscreensaver-gnome)
portupgrade -f kdeartwork-xscreensaver-kde kdeartwork kde
